Celtic has finalized a club-record transfer deal worth £11 million to acquire striker Kasper Hogh from Bodo/Glimt. Concurrently, Daizen Maeda has completed his transfer to Ipswich Town, newly promoted to the Premier League, for a fee of £10 million. Hogh, a Denmark international, is expected to undergo a medical examination in the UK shortly.

Kasper Hogh's Move to Celtic

The 25-year-old Hogh has been a primary target for Celtic this summer and is set to sign a four-year contract, which includes an option for an additional year. Previously, Celtic had expressed interest in Hogh during the January transfer window, but he opted to remain with Bodo/Glimt to participate in their successful Champions League campaign, where he notably scored in a victory against Atletico Madrid.

During his time at Bodo/Glimt, Hogh made 102 appearances and netted 53 goals, showcasing his striking prowess.

Daizen Maeda's Departure

On the other hand, Maeda's exit from Celtic marks the end of a significant chapter in his career. Since joining the club in 2022 under manager Ange Postecoglou, the Japan international has been instrumental, scoring 79 goals and helping the team secure five Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups, and two League Cups. Although he faced challenges last season, Maeda regained his form, scoring nine goals in the final seven matches, contributing to a league and cup double for Celtic.

Maeda has long expressed his ambition to play in the Premier League, and he will now join Ipswich Town on a three-year contract. He recently represented Japan at the World Cup, where the team reached the last 32 before being eliminated by Brazil.

As both players embark on new journeys, Celtic and Ipswich Town are set to make significant impacts in their respective leagues this season.
