Brisbane Roar have strengthened their squad for the upcoming 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League season by signing South Korean midfielder Nam Tae-hee on a one-year contract. The 35-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having played professionally in France, Qatar, Japan, and South Korea, with his most recent club being K League 1 side Jeju SK.

Impressive Career Highlights

Nam boasts an impressive international record, having earned 54 caps for South Korea. He began his professional journey with Valenciennes in France, where he made history as the youngest Asian player to compete in Ligue 1. His career flourished during two stints at Al-Duhail in Qatar, where he made over 270 appearances, netted 122 goals, and secured multiple Qatar Stars League titles. His remarkable performances earned him the accolade of Qatar’s Player of the Year in 2017.

Following his time in Qatar, Nam played for Al-Sadd under the legendary Xavi Hernandez, contributing to the club's unbeaten Qatar Stars League title in the 2020/21 season. He then joined Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan, where he played a pivotal role in reaching the final of the 2023/24 AFC Champions League under Australian coach Harry Kewell. Nam later returned to South Korea, making over 60 appearances for Jeju SK across two seasons.
