Brisbane Roar sign Emin Durakovic on two-year contract
Brisbane Roar has secured Emin Durakovic on a two-year contract, enhancing their roster ahead of the new season. This strategic move aims to strengthen the team's performance.

Brisbane Roar have officially signed midfielder Emin Durakovic from Melbourne City on a two-year contract. The Australian youth international, who progressed through the Melbourne City academy, made his senior debut in January 2025 and has since accumulated 33 appearances across all competitions.
Versatile Addition to the Squad
Durakovic, a left-footed midfielder, is expected to offer significant versatility to Roar head coach Michael Valkanis as the team prepares for the upcoming Isuzu UTE A-League season. Valkanis expressed enthusiasm about the signing, stating, “Emin gives us another dimension in the final third and in central midfield. He can play in a few positions across the front and midfield, he’s mobile and comfortable on the ball, and he wants to make things happen.” He added that he looks forward to working with Durakovic during pre-season.
Excitement for the Future
Brisbane Roar's Sporting Director, James Gow, also commented on the signing, highlighting Durakovic's youthful energy and potential. “Emin brings youthful exuberance, hunger, and a lot of potential. We’re confident Brisbane is the right place for Emin to kick on now, and we’re delighted to have him on board,” Gow said.
Durakovic's transfer marks a significant step in his career, as he had been with Melbourne City since joining their academy at the age of 12. Expressing his excitement about the move, Durakovic stated, “I’m excited to sign with Brisbane Roar. This is a club with a proud history and passionate supporters. I am determined to achieve success with the club and help bring the Roar back to where they belong, at the top.”
He is the sixth player to join Brisbane Roar in the last week, following the signings of German midfielder Marko Ilic, former Sydney FC defender Joel King, and two players from last season’s Central Coast Mariners, Sabit Ngor and Jacob Nasso. Additionally, former Western Sydney Wanderers defender Tate Russell has also joined the squad after playing in the NPL NSW.
