Brisbane Roar sign defender Jacob Nasso from Central Coast
Brisbane Roar has secured the signing of Jacob Nasso, a talented defender from Central Coast. This move aims to bolster the team's defensive lineup for the new season.

Brisbane Roar has strengthened its defensive lineup by signing 19-year-old defender Jacob Nasso from Central Coast Mariners. Nasso's move to Queensland comes after a promising breakout season with the Mariners, where he showcased his skills and potential.
New Signing Details
Nasso has signed a three-year contract that will see him remain with the Roar until the end of the 2026-27 Isuzu UTE A-League season. Prior to his time with Central Coast, he captained the U21 squad at Western United in 2023, earning the Players’ Player of the Year award while also making a mark at Bentleigh Greens in the NPL Victoria.
During the 2025-26 season, Nasso made eight appearances for the Mariners. Expressing his enthusiasm about the new chapter in his career, he stated, “I am extremely grateful and blessed for the opportunity,” emphasizing the club's clear vision for success. He added, “I’m excited to play in front of the fans, hungry for success and ready to build something special.”
Club's Confidence in Nasso
Brisbane Roar's Sporting Director, James Gow, highlighted Nasso's maturity and leadership qualities for his age, noting that his development thus far reflects his character and work ethic. Gow remarked, “At 19, Jacob has already shown he has a strong defensive IQ and many other qualities required to succeed at this level.” He expressed confidence that Nasso would thrive in the club's environment and is eager to see his contributions on the field.
Nasso's signing marks the fifth addition to Brisbane Roar in just a week, following the recruitment of German attacker Marko Ilic, ex-Sydney FC defender Joel King, and former Mariners attacker Sabit Ngor. The club also recently announced the signing of defender Tate Russell on a two-year deal, indicating a proactive approach in strengthening their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
