Bournemouth sign £25.7m striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche - BBC Sport
Bournemouth has completed the signing of striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche for a fee of £25.7 million. The young forward is expected to bolster the team's attack.

Bournemouth has officially signed striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche for a fee that could rise to £25.7 million. The announcement coincided with Rodriguez's 22nd birthday, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Strengthening the Squad
Rodriguez has joined Bournemouth on a five-year contract, aimed at bolstering the team's attacking options alongside fellow forward Evanilson. The addition of the Uruguayan international is expected to enhance the physicality of the Cherries' attack as they prepare for their inaugural season in European competition, having qualified for the Europa League.
Background and Future Prospects
A product of Real Madrid's youth academy, Rodriguez made a notable impact in La Liga last season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 34 appearances. Following his transfer to Elche last summer, Real Madrid retained 50% of any future transfer fee for the young forward, who is also eligible to represent Spain.
New Bournemouth manager Marco Rose had previously expressed interest in Rodriguez, and the club had been monitoring his progress for some time. It is important to note that Rodriguez is not intended as a replacement for the linked-away Junior Kroupi; rather, Bournemouth is looking to offload Turkey striker Enes Unal.
"It is a great privilege to be here," Rodriguez remarked. "I have always wanted to play in the Premier League and now, on my birthday, I can make that dream a reality. It has been a dream since I was a child and, when my agent told me Bournemouth were interested, I could not believe it."
Rodriguez is eager to embrace this new chapter in his career and aims to continue his development at Bournemouth.
