Birmingham City Football Club has officially announced the acquisition of Argentine striker Luis Vázquez from Belgian club Anderlecht. The transfer, which is subject to clearance, comes at an undisclosed fee, marking Vázquez as the club's fourth signing of the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old forward has signed a three-year contract and will don the number 32 shirt at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park. Known for his physicality, mobility, and technical skills, Vázquez is expected to enhance the attacking options available to head coach Chris Davies as the team prepares for the 2026-27 season.
Career Highlights
Vázquez began his professional journey with Boca Juniors, where he made nearly 100 appearances and contributed to 23 goals. His tenure with Boca saw him help the team clinch the Primera División title in 2022 before he transitioned to Europe, joining Anderlecht in the summer of 2023. While at Anderlecht, he played 118 matches and was part of the squad that finished third in the Jupiler Pro League during the 2023-24 season, securing a spot in the UEFA Europa League. In the following season, Vázquez showcased his talent on the European stage, netting four goals in 10 Europa League matches.
With a total of 233 senior appearances and two caps for Argentina's Under-23 team, Vázquez brings valuable experience to Birmingham City. He also spent the latter half of the 2025-26 season on loan at La Liga side Getafe.
