Manchester City has officially announced the acquisition of England forward Beth Mead on a free transfer from Arsenal. The 31-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Women's Super League champions after her previous deal with the Gunners expired in May.

Mead's Impressive Career

With 81 caps for the England national team, Mead was a key player in the Lionesses' triumphs at the European Championships in 2022 and 2025. She recently scored for England in a match against Ukraine, showcasing her ongoing contributions to the national squad. Reflecting on her move, Mead stated, "It was a no-brainer for me. I think the way City play suits me really well and can get something extra out of my game."

During her nine-year tenure at Arsenal, Mead achieved significant success, including winning the Women's Super League, the Champions League, and three League Cups. She received a heartfelt farewell from fans during her last home game against Everton in May.
