Bengaluru FC has officially signed midfielder Borja Martinez from AD Alcorcon, a third-tier Spanish club, for the upcoming 2026-27 Indian Super League season. The 32-year-old Spaniard brings a wealth of experience, having played for several clubs in Spain, including Hercules CF, RCD Espanyol, Elche CF, Cultural Leonesa, and AD Alcorcon, as well as Atletico Madrid’s youth team.

Martinez's Versatility and Anticipation

Martinez is known for his versatility, capable of playing as a midfielder or on the flanks, and can also support the center forward as a second striker. Bengaluru FC Head Coach Pep Muñoz expressed enthusiasm about the signing, stating, “Borja is a creative player whom we’ve been tracking for the last couple of months. His style of play is suited for the brand of football we play here at the club, and his arrival will be a solid upgrade to our team for the coming season.”

Additionally, Bengaluru FC has extended the contract of defender Harsh Palande, ensuring he will remain with the club until the end of the 2028-29 season. Palande expressed his commitment to the club, stating, “Being at BFC has always been my priority, and I cannot wait to get back and meet all my teammates and get the work started for the season.”
