Beşiktaş has officially announced the signing of Belgian forward Leandro Trossard from Arsenal, marking a significant addition to their squad. Both clubs confirmed the completion of the transfer, which sees the 31-year-old winger join the Turkish Süper Lig side on a three-year contract, with an option for an additional year.

Transfer and Contract Details

The transfer fee for Trossard is reported to be around £17 million (€20 million). His contract includes a substantial financial package, with a base salary estimated between €7 million and €8 million per season. Additionally, Trossard will receive a signing bonus of €1.5 million, along with performance-related incentives and bonuses for championship achievements. Beşiktaş successfully outmaneuvered competition from Saudi Arabian club Al Diraiyah FC, who had made a lucrative offer exceeding €10 million net per year to secure the player.

Arrival and Reception in Istanbul

Trossard arrived in Istanbul via a private flight, accompanied by Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı. Upon landing at Atatürk Airport, he was welcomed by a large crowd of enthusiastic Black Eagles supporters. In a show of appreciation, Trossard engaged with the fans by leading them in the club's traditional “üçlü” chant before departing in a club vehicle. He is set to wear the number 19 jersey for Beşiktaş in the upcoming season.

Arsenal also released a statement confirming that they had granted Trossard permission to travel for his medical examination after meeting their valuation. The Belgian forward leaves North London after a successful three-and-a-half-year period, during which he made over 170 appearances and scored 36 goals, including a memorable strike that helped end Arsenal's 22-year wait for a Premier League title.
