The club highlighted Gordon's contributions during his time at St James' Park, where he made 152 appearances and scored 39 goals after joining from Everton in January 2023. His performances were instrumental in helping Newcastle qualify for the UEFA Champions League during his debut season.

Gordon's breakthrough came in his second season, where he scored 11 goals in 35 Premier League matches, earning him a call-up to the England senior squad. He made his debut against Brazil at Wembley and later represented England at Euro 2024, having previously excelled in the under-21 setup, where he was named Player of the Tournament at the 2023 European Under-21 Championships.
