Arsenal have confirmed the permanent signing of defender Piero Hincapié from Bayer Leverkusen after a successful loan spell last season. The 24-year-old Ecuador international made a significant impact during his time at the Emirates, contributing to the team's Premier League title victory.

Loan Success and Permanent Move

During his loan period, Hincapié featured in 39 matches across all competitions, showcasing his defensive skills. He made his debut for Arsenal in September and was a key player, starting 20 Premier League matches as the team conceded only 27 goals throughout the season. Notably, he also played in the starting lineup during the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Previous Experience and International Career

Prior to joining Arsenal, Hincapié had a successful tenure at Bayer Leverkusen, where he made 166 appearances and played a crucial role in securing the club's first Bundesliga title in the 2023-24 season. His career began with Independiente del Valle in Ecuador, followed by a season at Talleres in Argentina before his move to Leverkusen.
