Arsenal handed huge Julian Alvarez transfer opportunity as swap deal eyed | Football London
Arsenal is reportedly eyeing a swap deal that could bring Julian Alvarez to the club. This move presents a significant opportunity for the Gunners to strengthen their attacking options.

Arsenal is reportedly eyeing a significant opportunity to acquire Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid as part of a potential swap deal involving Viktor Gyokeres. The Gunners are looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the upcoming season.
Alvarez's Desire to Leave Atletico
Julian Alvarez, who has made a name for himself at Atletico Madrid, has expressed his desire to leave the club, prompting interest from several top European teams, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain. Barcelona previously attempted to secure Alvarez by offering Ferran Torres along with cash, but Atletico Madrid rejected this proposal. The forward is said to have a release clause set at €500 million (£432 million), and Atletico has made it clear that any interested parties must meet this valuation.
Arsenal's Strategic Moves
Despite Alvarez's preference for a move to Barcelona, Arsenal has been proactive in their pursuit of the striker. Sources indicate that the Gunners have engaged in discussions behind the scenes to facilitate a transfer. However, Atletico Madrid is reportedly unwilling to negotiate with Barcelona and is instead looking to work with Arsenal on a deal that would see Alvarez join the Premier League side in exchange for €60 million (£51.7 million) and Gyokeres.
Atletico views Gyokeres as a suitable replacement, describing him as a ‘pure and simple centre-forward’ who would fit well into Diego Simeone's tactical setup. The addition of Gyokeres could also lead to Alexander Sorloth's departure, as the Norwegian striker is attracting interest from Juventus and Napoli.
As Arsenal continues to explore options, they are also pursuing Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, indicating that both Gyokeres and Alvarez may remain with their respective clubs for the upcoming season.
