Barcelona has successfully completed the signing of Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon after reaching an agreement with the Premier League club. The transfer fee is reported to be £69.3 million, which includes add-ons. This move comes after Barcelona managed to fend off interest from Bayern Munich, who were also keen on acquiring the England international.

If finalized, Gordon's transfer will mark the second-most expensive sale in Newcastle United's history, trailing only behind the £125 million they received for Alexander Isak from Liverpool last summer. Gordon, who finished the recent season as Newcastle's top goalscorer with 17 goals, had signed a long-term contract extension at St James' Park in October 2024, leaving him with four years remaining on that deal. However, he was an unused substitute in Newcastle's last four matches as the club aimed to protect him ahead of the anticipated transfer.
