Tottenham Hotspur has officially announced the signing of defender Andy Robertson on a free transfer. The 32-year-old Scottish international confirmed that he would depart Liverpool at the conclusion of his contract on June 30, with his new deal at Spurs set to commence on July 1. Robertson, who joined Liverpool from Hull City in 2017, has enjoyed a successful tenure at Anfield, winning nine major trophies during his time with the club.

Robertson received a heartfelt send-off from Liverpool supporters following the team's 1-1 draw against Brentford, which marked the final match of the Premier League season. His contributions to the club have been significant, helping Liverpool secure the Premier League title in both the 2019/20 and 2024/25 seasons, as well as the Champions League trophy in 2018/19 and 2021/22.

Spurs' Transfer Strategy

Tottenham, who narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship by just two points, are looking to bolster their squad under the guidance of manager Roberto De Zerbi. In addition to Robertson, the club is reportedly in discussions to sign Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth, who is also nearing the end of his contract. Furthermore, Spurs are exploring the possibility of acquiring Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton and remain interested in Manchester City forward Savinho, after missing out on his signing last year.
