Amar Dedic has officially arrived in Newcastle as he prepares to finalize his transfer from Benfica. The news broke on Sunday morning that Newcastle United had reached an agreement with Benfica regarding the transfer fee.

A reported compromise fee of £29.5 million has been agreed upon between the two clubs. Dedic, who turns 24 on Tuesday, has already earned 31 caps for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. With only a medical examination and final formalities left to complete, he is set to become the first signing of Matthias Jaissle's tenure at Newcastle United.

Medical and Personal Terms

It has been widely reported that Dedic has already agreed on personal terms with Newcastle. He arrived on Tyneside and is scheduled to undergo his medical examination today, August 17. Footage released by Sky Sports shows Dedic arriving at Newcastle Airport late on Sunday.

Born in Austria, Dedic has made a significant impact on the international stage, including participating in this summer’s World Cup, where he started three of Bosnia and Herzegovina's four matches. He played 44 competitive matches for Benfica last season, contributing one goal and five assists.

Newcastle United is keen to bolster their squad, particularly in the right-back position, following the departures of Kieran Trippier and Emil Krafth, along with ongoing injury issues for Tino Livramento. With the Premier League season set to kick off next Sunday and the transfer window closing in 16 days, Dedic is expected to be available for selection against Liverpool, pending the completion of his transfer.
